Most people build alone before they build here.

At a kitchen table, in a spare room, in the gap between a day job and the thing they actually want to make. eMYRge is where that stops being a solo project.

We're a coworking space in the heart of Myrtle Beach's Arts & Innovation District, and we're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which means we're not here to maximize desk rentals. We're here to help people build companies. The mission is simple: give founders, remote workers, and creators a place to work, the people to work near, and the resources to grow past what they could do on their own.

Some of what happens here is structured, like our programs, workshops, and 1 Million Cups® every week. Most of it isn't. It's the conversation by the coffee machine, the introduction that turns into a partnership, the feedback you didn't know you needed. That's the part you can't schedule, and it's the part that matters most.

Our Connection to HTC

Powered by partnership.

The building carries the HTC name, but we're not one of their offices. This space exists because HTC, Myrtle Beach's local fiber provider, gave it to the community. We operate independently as a nonprofit, and the name honors the gift that made it possible.

That partnership is why a founder in Myrtle Beach has access to something most small cities don't: room to build, fast internet, and a community already in the room.

It's Working

The proof isn't in what we say about ourselves. It's in what leaves. One company that started at eMYRge grew enough to buy its own building downtown. People walk in curious and walk out with a desk, a cofounder, or a customer. Founders show up further along every week than they were the last.

We measure success partly by who outgrows us. That's the job.

Beyond the desks

The desks pay for the part that's free.

eMYRge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Beyond the workspace, we run education and workshops, connect founders with mentors, and keep public programming like 1 Million Cups free to attend, with no membership required to walk in the door.

Affordability is part of the mission. We work with people whose budget does not match their idea yet, including scholarship access to programs and space, so cost is a conversation instead of a wall.

You can support that work by donating, sponsoring a program, mentoring a founder, or becoming a member. Every one of those pays for the same thing: another person in Myrtle Beach who does not have to build alone.
